Biographical
Information
Scott Causey was born in Eupora, Mississippi and grew up in nearby
Tupelo. Ever since Scott was very young, he has worked with clay. It was
not a matter of choice that it ended up being his career. Through many coincidences,
doors always opened which furthered his exploration of clay both as an art
medium and career choice.
When he was 16 years old, Scott began an apprenticeship with
Rob Reedy, who was then an instructor at Itawamba College in Fulton, Mississippi.
When Rob became an instructor at The Ringling School of Art and Design in
Sarasota, Florida, Scott accompanied him and eventually completed his Bachelor
of Fine Art Degree.
The artist continued his studies at The Arrowmount School of
Arts and Crafts. Scott's unique and finely crafted work has been exhibited
throughout the United States and was recently included in "Featuring
Florida", a juried exhibition at the prestigious Ringling Museum of
Art.
Scott currently lives and works in Sarasota with his wife Jodi, son Chase
and daughter Charlotte.
